BERLIN CENTER -- Terry P. Stewart, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1954, in Poland, a son of the late James C. and Virginia Witchert Stewart.
He worked for 37 years in upper management and sales at R&J Trucking.
He was a man who believed in hard work and commitment, putting his whole heart into everything he pursued. Whether it was at work or enjoying the hobbies he loved most, he approached life with determination and quiet dedication. One of his greatest passions was drag racing, especially Top Alcohol Funny Cars. The passion was something he shared with his father. Those years on the track gave him not only countless memories but also a lifelong appreciation for the time they shared together.
His love of horses became another defining part of his life. He and his wife spent many weekends showing on the American Quarter Horse Association or AQHA circuit, creating memories side by side while doing something they both enjoyed. His talent and dedication were evident in the many accomplishments he achieved over the years, including winning his class at the BHF Show in Des Moines, Iowa, earning Reserve Champion honors at the Quarter Horse Congress, and finding great success with his junior colts. While the awards were certainly meaningful, it was the friendships, experiences and time spent doing what he loved that meant the most to him.
Left behind to cherish Terry's memory are his beloved wife, the former Laurie Reiner, whom he married July 17, 1993; his brother, Jim (Barb) Stewart; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
