Samuel H. Morrison 1935-2026

CLARION, Pa. -- Samuel Hezekiah "Sam" Morrison, 91, of Clarion, Pa., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026.

Born on July 8, 1935, Sam was the son of George and Ethel Morrison.

He graduated from Brookville High School in 1953 and retired from Conrail Railroad after 44 years of dedicated service.

Sam shared 69 loving years of marriage with MaryJane, the love of his life. Together, they raised four children: Sammy, who preceded him in death in 2006; Dan and his wife, Sherry Danch; Rob and his wife, Kelly; and Nancy and her husband, Tom Steffora. He was a proud grandfather to twins Tessa and Katrina as well as Tabbitha, Tyler, Jessica, Morrison and Madeline. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Asher, Levi, Haddie, Adriana and Miranda. Sam is survived by his brother, Bill, and Bill's wife, Pat.

In addition to his parents and his son, Sammy, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey and Jim.

A faithful member of Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church, Sam served as an usher and participated on the original building committee.

He was an avid reader who enjoyed golfing, mowing his lawn and watching NASCAR. He had a lifelong love of cars and especially enjoyed drag racing in his younger years. A gifted handyman, Sam could fix nearly anything, and his family could always rely on his knowledge, resourcefulness, and willingness to help.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Niles, OH 44446. The funeral service will immediately follow.

Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Hubbard.

Sam will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his devotion to his family, his remarkable ability to fix almost anything and the dependable, caring way he was always there for those he loved. His wisdom, strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
