VIENNA -- Nongnooch "Nita" McCarty, 87, of Vienna, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Thailand, a daughter of Chat and Chien Permpoon.
She married William L. McCarty on July 16, 1988.
Nita worked as an inspector at General Electric-Ohio Lamp for 23 years.
She was an amazing Thai cook and enjoyed riding on her husband's Harley. Nita also enjoyed bowling and loved wearing jewelry.
She is survived by her husband, William L. McCarty; stepsons, Sean (Beth) McCarty of Vienna and Timothy (Beth) McCarty of Wrentham, Massachusetts; stepdaughter-in-law, Michelle McCarty; along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; and her stepson, Michael McCarty.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, and again one hour prior to the service, Friday at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
