BOARDMAN -- At the age of 62 years young on Tuesday, June 17, 2026, Michael Finney, of Boardman, passed away after a brief illness.
He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on Aug. 9, 1963, to Herbert Harold and Bonnie Jean Meigh Finney.
Michael is survived by his partner of 42 years, Terry A. Cyphers of Boardman; his loving springer spaniel, Sadie; sisters, Tammy (Mike) Kunik and Debbie (George) Kubic; nieces, Lindy (Patrick) McCarthy, Shawna (Jerome) Jones and Lacee (Todd Reasbeck) Kunik; grand-nieces, Kayana Jones and Anastasia Jones; grand-nephew, Legend Jones; and aunt, Sandy (Chris) Imboden.
Michael was always a hard worker. As a boy, he delivered the local newspaper; as a teen, he worked at Wendy's, where he earned enough money to buy his first car, an AMC Spirit, which he absolutely loved. After graduation from Martin's Ferry High School in 1981, Mike was employed as a draftsman for Picoma until its closure in 1982. At that time, Mike entered the inventory business, where he met Terry. Shortly after, Terry and Michael moved to Boardman, and in 1984, they formed USA Inventory Specialists. For the next 42 years, they traveled the country, visited places, saw things and met people that they never would have without their partnership. It was an incredible adventure!
Besides his parents and grandparents, Michael was preceded in death by his loving pets, Dandi and Cady.
"Mike, I never would have or could have without you. It was quite a ride."
Thank you, Mike!
