BOARDMAN -- Leslie Albanese, 44, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Adventura at the Assumption after a lengthy health battle.
She was born Nov. 20, 1981, in Youngstown, daughter of Ronald and Elizabeth "Betty" L. Kogelnik Albanese and was a lifelong area resident.
Leslie graduated from Boardman School High in 2000 and soon after started working in the front office for Dr. Awil Nalluri for many years.
She was self-employed and opened her own cleaning business that she continued until 2019.
Leslie and her family have been parishioners at Saint Charles' Church for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends; she especially loved going on outings and having fun with her daughter.
Left to cherish Leslie's memory are her daughter, Morgan E. Zolla; her father, Ron Albanese; her brothers, Anthony (Kara Miller) Albanese and Jason (Karen) Albanese; her nephews, Enzo and Dominic; and her niece, Carley, all of Boardman.
She also leaves her uncle, Rudy, and aunt, Caroline Kogelnik, of North Lima, to whom a special thank you goes out for the support and love they had shown to Leslie this past year during her ongoing cancer battle; both loved her like their daughter.
Leslie leaves many aunts and uncles that she had a very special relationship with as well as several close cousins and the father of her daughter, Michael Zolla of Boardman.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Albanese, who passed away in 2020; her grandparents, Rudy and Anna Kogelnik and Joseph and Ruth Albanese; her aunts, Donna (Ralph) and Dota; and her uncle, Ted Snyder.
Leslie's wishes were for no calling or services; the family is honoring that.
Her ashes will be entombed, at a later date, in Resurrection Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
