HUBBARD -- Janice R. Hutz, 88, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026.
Janice was born April 30, 1938, in Chautauqua, New York, a daughter of Josephine Ryan.
She was a 1956 graduate of Farrell High School, in Farrell, Pa., and a 1959 graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.
For 21 years she was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Northside Medical Center.
Janice enjoyed reading, gardening, doing puzzles, taking family vacations, and going out to lunch with her friends; but, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her family, including her husband, James G. Hutz, whom she married Oct. 24, 1959. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna Hutz of Hubbard, and her grandchildren, Joseph Hutz, and Alexandra Hutz (Zach Panak). She also leaves her son, David (Madge) Hutz of Fernandina, Florida, and their children, Catherine and Elizabeth.
She also leaves her brother, Edward Groff of Sharon, Pa.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James J. Hutz; and brother, John Groff.
There are no calling hours or services.
