NEW MIDDLETOWN -- A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, OH 44442, for Gloria J. Groner, 84, who died on Aug. 5, 2024, at Masternick Memorial, surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born on April 16, 1942, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ralph and Antoinette Julian Sapio. She worked as a beautician and married Albert W. Groner on Oct. 10, 1964. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, New Middletown.
Gloria leaves her two sons, James A. (Erin) Groner of Petersburg, and Thomas W. (Leanne) Groner of Canfield; her daughter, Karen E. Groner of New Middletown; her sister, Christine (Dennis) McNamara of Niles; eight grandchildren, Madison Groner, Mackenzie Groner, Grace (Pat) Flara, Aaron Groner, Tommy Groner, Joey Groner, Anthony Groner and Patrick Groner; and a great-granddaughter, Spencer Carson.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert, who died Nov. 3, 2012; a grandchild, Samuel Groner; her brothers, Samuel and Nicholas Sapio; her sister, Mary Zaluski; and an infant sister, Rose.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at the Clemente Funeral Home, 10170 Main St., New Middletown, OH 44442. A prayer service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
