George Gilbert Hill IV 1997-2026

PITTSBURGH -- George Gilbert Hill IV, 28, of Pittsburgh, Pa., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

He was born Dec. 23, 1997, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of George G. Hill III and Brandy Jones.

From the beginning, his family knew he was destined to become a success, as the favor of God was clearly on his life. As a child, George always had a happy disposition and a smile on his face, bringing joy to those around him.

He was a gifted young man who displayed an early talent on the football field at age 6. Starting from his youth, George would go on to earn countless awards and accolades for football and in track and field during his time at Hubbard High School, where he was described as one of the most prolific athletes in the school's history. He became not just a local talent but a nationally recognized running back who was a 4-star prospect and named to ESPN's top 300. He graduated in 2016 as a standout athlete, heavily recruited by multiple colleges, but it was with the University of Pittsburgh, among the Panther family, that George found the unmatched leadership and unwavering support he desired. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration and went on to build a career as an accomplished financial analyst with Altria Client Services. He was an esteemed colleague at Altria until his passing.

George will be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him as a kind, intelligent, talented, loving and successful young man who was never afraid to chase his dreams and he made each one of them a reality. He cherished his family, friends and teammates. He leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved him and he will be deeply missed.

George leaves to cherish the memory of him, his loving parents, George and Brandy; his siblings, Aniyah Jones-Ford, Jayden Smith, A'ja Hill-Lewis ,Aaron Shaw and Aries Shaw, all of Youngstown; grandparents, Robert and Sheller Wilson of Youngstown; grandmother, Gloria Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; aunts and uncles, Tamika Jones (Keith) of Columbus, Kandice Jones of Youngstown, Jawaun Jones (Angel) of Campbell, Darla Hill of Dallas, Texas, and Tammy Gaddis of Youngstown; bonus mom, Anissa Lewis of Youngstown; bonus grandparent, Ralph Pack; special cousins, Corey Riley and Tyreq Moorer; and several close friends, Brandon, David, Isiah, Bryce, Sebastian, Anthony, Martel and Dominique. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends along with his beloved pet, Skylar Blue Ivy.

George was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George G. Hill Jr. and Edward Wayne Jones; cousin, Brendon Moorer; uncle, Dontaue Pack; and bonus grandfather, David Jenkins.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., Youngstown. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
