YOUNGSTOWN -- Frank Joseph Righetti, 88, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2026.
He was born April 26, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Rose DeProfio Righetti.
Frank was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area and a 1956 graduate of The Rayen High School, where he was an accomplished athlete and earned All-City honors in football for three years. Frank proudly served his country as a member of the United States National Guard. He began his career working alongside his father and went on to have a long and successful career at Store Engineering Systems. Frank was a proud 60-year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396.
Retirement did little to slow Frank down. He continued giving his time to others through AmeriCorps VISTA's STARS senior volunteer program. His commitment earned him recognition from the Ohio House of Representatives for his outstanding volunteer service. Frank was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Youngstown. Above all, he was devoted to his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. He was an avid car enthusiast, loved a good meal and was known for being meticulous about the things he cared for. His family will remember his strong personality, his loyalty, and the pride he took in his family, his work and his community.
Frank is survived by his wife, Carol Rimedio Righetti; his son, Frank (Heather) Righetti of Glenmoore, Pa.; his daughter, Alicia (Jon) Thomas of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his grandchildren, Gio Thomas, Stella Righetti and Sophia Righetti. He is also survived by his sister, Rose McCormick; "Brother" Bob (Kathy) Rimedio; his sister-in-law, Linda Righetti; and many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella DeGise Righetti; his brother, Alex Righetti; his brother-in-law, Joseph McCormick; and several beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and extended family members, including Nancy and Ed Nappy, Mary and Joe Sabol, Tony and Rose DeGise, Josephine and Victor Amendolara, and Sam and Rose Buzzacco.
Frank lived a full life defined by hard work, service, loyalty and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Schiavone Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will directly follow at noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, all in Youngstown.
