STRUTHERS -- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Lee" Jacubec, our beloved "Nee Nee," who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House in Poland, following a courageous battle with cancer, at 69 years old.
Lee was born March 28, 1957, in Fort Riley, Kansas, a daughter of the late Richard and Margaret L. "Peggy" Gough Jacubec.
A proud 1975 graduate of Struthers High School, Lee attended cosmetology school following graduation.
Throughout her career, she worked as an insurance agent for Nationwide. She also worked for the Modern Builders Supply and in the cafeteria for Campbell City Schools.
To know Lee was to love her. She was outgoing, sassy, quick-witted and blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. A loving and fiercely loyal sister, aunt, and friend, Lee would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. She formed many lifelong friendships, including Kim, Gretchen, Nancy, Natalie, Jenny, Mary Lou and "Big Ma," and cherished the many friends she made at Modern Builders Supply and Campbell City Schools. Lee also loved traveling, especially trips to New York City, Florida and Las Vegas.
Lee leaves behind her "ride-or-die" sister, Jill; brothers, Jon and her sister-in-law, Nancy, who took great care of Lee, and Matthew, who could make her laugh harder than anyone; beloved niece and nephews, Nick (Jenna), Nate (Jessica), Jake (Ashleigh), Jaret and Jaelyn; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicolette, ViVi, Jack and Luca, who always brought out her softest side.
She also leaves her loving Aunt Phoebe and Uncle John, who faithfully accompanied her to doctor appointments throughout her illness; Uncle Walt and Kathy, who often brought her favorite McDonald's french fries and Diet Coke; cousins, Amy, Jenni and Ted Gough, and their families; and many treasured friends. The family would also like to thank Carol Mogulich for her kindness in caring for Lee at home with her healthcare needs.
In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by her grandparents, Libby and Charles Gough and Emil and Nellie Jacubec; cousin, Karen; and dear friend, Debbie Cavucci.
She was loved by all those who uplifted her through her battle. She loved and appreciated every doctor, nurse and special love goes to Dr. Chahine for taking such wonderful care of her.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where a funeral service will follow at noon.
