YOUNGSTOWN -- David West, 78, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at his home, with loved ones.
David was born on March 27, 1948, in Youngstown. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1966.
David joined the U.S. Navy on Sept. 26, 1968. He was a Vietnam veteran in Naval Operations, and he received an honorable discharge for his service.
David retired after many years from General Motors-Lordstown as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.
David married Diana Woodall in December 1972. They were happily married for 53 years. David and Diana had one son, David Jr. (Kara).
David leaves his brother, Mark of Columbus; and sisters, Laura of New York, Glenda of Columbus and Mary of Youngstown.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucy Shufflebotham West.
