MINERAL RIDGE -- Carol M. Lewis, 88, of Canfield, passed away Monday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2026, at the Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge Nursing Center in Mineral Ridge.
She was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of Carl and Bessie Rodenbaugh Gongaware.
Carol was a 1956 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
She married Darl R. Lewis on Nov. 27, 1961. Together they shared 59 years of marriage and many happy memories. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2021.
Carol and her husband had attended the Berlin United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, and she was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she especially loved cooking for them and all of their get-togethers and holidays. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two children, Terry (Timothy) Ward of Canfield and Steven (Stacey) Lewis of Newton Falls; six beloved grandchildren, Mark, Amy (Jake), Jake (Kennedy), Jonathan (Taylor), Tori (Christian) and Brett; and three great-grandchildren, Eric, Ellie and Chloe.
Besides her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Alan Lewis.
Private funeral services will be held and Carol will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Canfield.
Arrangements for Mrs. Lewis are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield.
