Zenon O. Forosty 1945-2026
POLAND — Zenon O. Forosty, 81, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born April 15, 1945, in Spangler, Pa., Zenon was the son of the late Very Rev. Theodore Forosty and Anna Czorny Forosty. He spent his childhood in several communities throughout Pennsylvania but always spoke fondly of his years in Coatesville, where he formed friendships that remained important throughout his life.
Zenon served in the United States Army Reserve and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Youngstown State University before graduating from the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. He enjoyed a long and successful career in healthcare, including positions with Eli Lilly and helping oversee the expansion of Kroger pharmacies throughout the Midwest. Among his many professional accomplishments, Zenon was especially proud of owning and operating Al Tell’s Pharmacy and Gift Shoppe in Hubbard.
Throughout his life, Zenon valued his family, his friendships and the many relationships he built over the years. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and friendly nature, as well as the genuine interest he took in the people around him.
An avid golfer, Zenon enjoyed spending time on the course with family and friends and never missed his Monday Night Football gatherings, which became a treasured tradition over the years. He was a member of AHEPA and the Mahoning County Mustang Car Club. His faith remained an important part of his life, and he was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church and St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
In addition to his parents, Zenon was preceded in death by his sister, Ariadna Forosty Kulish, and his brothers-in-law, Father John Kulish, Dimitri Hatziantoniou and John Goujiamanis.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Voula Kozionis Forosty; his son, Theo Forosty of Syracuse, New York; his daughter, Alexa Forosty (Justin Horne) of Brooklyn, New York; his granddaughter, Eleni; his sister, Lydia Bohen (Joseph Bohen) of King of Prussia, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and former colleagues.
In accordance with Zenon’s wishes, private funeral services with his family have taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made in Zenon’s memory to SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509; or St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
