William T. Aggers 1947-2026
VERMILION — William Taylor “Bill” Aggers, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 22, 1947, in Sharon, Pa. Bill made Vermilion his home for the past 48 years after relocating from McDonald.
He attended Malone College in Canton and received his business degree from Dyke College. Bill dedicated more than 30 years of service to U.S. Steel, where he worked in the roll shop until his retirement.
Bill was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Vermilion. He had a lifelong passion for classic automobiles, especially Chevrolet models, and took great pride in restoring, maintaining and collecting them. He was a previous member of the Chevy Car Club, where he enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm with fellow classic car enthusiasts. Bill also appreciated collecting coins, spending time on the golf course and, above all, making memories with his family. His sense of humor, steady work ethic and love for those closest to him will be fondly remembered.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 58 years, Barbara Carkido Aggers of Vermilion; his son, William Perry Aggers of Avon Lake (Racheal); his daughter, Ranee Hetherington (Rakyym) of Silver Spring, Maryland; his cherished grandchildren, Raef and Rylee Hetherington and Arcadia Cambarare; his brother, Danny (Bobbie) Aggers of Florida; his sister, Nancy Bessey of Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. Aggers and Lorraine Taylor Aggers.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
