Shirley M. Flink 1935-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — Shirley Mae Flink, 90, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Hampton Woods in Poland.

Born on Aug. 14, 1935, in Youngstown, Shirley was the daughter of the late Adam and Leah Carmicael Stone.

Shirley was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.

On Aug. 27, 1955, Shirley married the love of her life, Donald P. Flink. The two shared nearly 63 years of marriage until his passing on May 8, 2018.

She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Youngstown.

She worked in accounts payable for the YMCA for several years.

Shirley enjoyed family vacations to Hawaii and treasured summers at Chautauqua Lake. She had a very infectious laugh. She loved to cook and loved animals, and adored all of her pets over the years. Above all, she cherished her moments of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her loving, warm and selfless spirit will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two sons, Dale (Renae) Flink of New Middletown and Jeffrey (John) Flink of Chicago; her grandchildren, Danielle (Max Jameson) Flink of Tucson, Arizona and Adam (fiancee Tiana) Flink of Las Vegas; as well as two great-grandchildren, Avery and Evan.

Services were held privately for the family.

She was laid to rest next to her husband at Lake Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
