Rebecca J. Banks 1949-2026

Born in New Castle, Pa., Rebecca was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Nancy C. Moran.

She was a dedicated and lifelong educator who deeply valued learning. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and her master’s degree in early education from Edinboro University.

Rebecca poured her heart into her career, spending many years shaping young minds and supporting families as a teacher in the Conneaut School District while residing in Linesville.

Rebecca was blessed with two beautiful chapters of family life. On July 10, 1971, she married her first husband, Ronnie C. Shuck, with whom she shared many wonderful years and raised their family until his passing. Years later, she found love and companionship once again, marrying John “Jack” Banks on June 11, 2016.

Rebecca relocated to Poland, where she and Jack lived. During this time, she enjoyed going to church and volunteering her time at The Dorothy Day House of Hospitality.

Above all, Rebecca’s greatest joy was her family. She was immensely proud of her children, cherished her role as a grandmother and shared an exceptionally close bond with her brother, Rick, and sister-in-law, Jaime. She found her greatest happiness in the time, love and laughter they all shared together.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Banks; children, Carissa Shuck of West Palm Beach, Florida, Jessica Fox (and her husband, Chris) of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Jason Shuck (and his wife, Cami) of Mars, Pa.; grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Gavin and Jaxon; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard “Rick” Moran (and his wife, Jaime) of Linesville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald E. and Nancy C. Moran; and first husband, Ronnie C. Shuck.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6028 US-6, Linesville, PA 16424; and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Edward J Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, OH 44512.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Rebecca’s honor to The Dorothy Day House of Hospitality, PO Box 863, Youngstown, OH 44501.
