Michael J. Fecko 1940-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — Michael J. Fecko Jr., affectionately known as “Mickey,” passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Mickey was born July 27, 1940, in Youngstown, to the late Michael Fecko and Mary Hollecko. He attended Wilson High School, was of Catholic faith, and worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube and later for Burlington Coat Factory. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching wildlife and yardwork, but most of all spending time with his wife and family.

Mickey leaves his wife of 33 years, Kymla Fecko; his sister, Patti Patrella; his beloved children, Lisa Fecko of California and Tammy Fecko of Hinchman, Florida; son, Michael (Shannon) Fecko of Florida; and he embraced his role of stepfather to Avery, Adrian and Deveda Hayford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elenor Burris, Maryann Halt and Margie Buttry; and a brother, Paul Fecko.

Everyone who knew Mickey will remember a loving, caring, family-devoted man who had a quiet strength and a generous heart. He will be missed tremendously.

There will be no services per Mickey’s request, but a lifetime of memories for his wife, children, stepchildren, family and friends to forever cherish.
