BOARDMAN -- Martha "Marty" Jean McEwan, 73, of Boardman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with her loving husband, Rod McEwan, by her side and other close family members nearby.
Born April 21, 1953, in Youngstown, Marty was the eldest daughter of Grace and Porter Kimble and one of 15 children. Her caring and steady presence became a natural part of who she was, and she had a way of making people feel loved, looked after and special.
Those closest to Marty could never forget her fun, energetic and loving ways. Marty's lively spirit showed in the things she loved -- running, biking, playing cards, listening to music, going to live concerts and spending time with the people she loved most. Marty had a special gift with children and never met a child who she did not instantly become friends with, and she lovingly looked after her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, finding delight in the connections she made with them.
Marty will be dearly missed by her husband, Rod; her two daughters, Bitsy (Willie) Dishman and Missy (Billy) Stec; her stepchildren, Carol Caldwell and Rodney (Laurie) McEwan; her eight grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her remaining siblings, Bonnie (Tim) McTague, Donna (Mason) Evans, Karen Hoopes and William "Bill" (Betty) Kimble.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Grace Rogers Kimble; her brothers, Clarence, Robert, Donald, Charles and Larry Kimble; and her sisters, Ruth Burns, Betty Ann Robertson, Janet Gligor, Darlene Kimble and Denise Kimble.
Marty's family mourns the profound loss of her passing, but they will continue to cherish all that she brought to their lives: love, laughter, comfort, connection, and a nurturing spirit that will never be forgotten.
