Kimberly Welch 1956-2026
GIRARD — Kimberly Welch, 69, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Born Dec. 4, 1956, in Youngstown, Kimberly was the daughter of Thomas L. Hitt and Jeanette L. Gay Hitt.
A proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School in 1975, Kimberly embarked on a lifelong career in banking. Her dedication and hard work were evident throughout her professional journey, culminating in her retirement May 1, 2026, from Stifel Nicolaus and Company. Kimberly’s colleagues and clients alike admired her professionalism and warmth.
Kimberly shared a deep bond with her late husband, Con E. Welch. Together, they created countless cherished memories through Sunday drives, family picnics and spontaneous trips that brought joy to their lives and those around them. One trip to Kings Island remained a favorite story she loved to recount. She also had a passion for water skiing and snow skiing in her younger days, embracing life with enthusiasm and adventure.
Kimberly’s love for music was unparalleled; she possessed the voice of an angel and found joy in singing throughout her life. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, and she attended church at First Baptist Church of Girard and was known for her avid prayers.
Those who knew Kimberly will remember her as a beacon of kindness and unconditional love. She had an extraordinary ability to make any room feel complete simply by being present. Kimberly noticed what needed to be done and quietly took care of it without seeking recognition — a testament to her selflessness and compassion.
She is survived by her siblings, Cathy Acosta and Cynthia Petersen (Ed); her sisters-in-law, Shelia (George) and Sharon, aka Babe; her brother-in-law, Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kimberly was predeceased by her beloved husband, Con E. Welch; and her parents, Thomas L. Hitt and Jeanette L. Hitt; as well as her brother, Thomas M. Hitt.
Kimberly’s legacy of love, kindness and quiet strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
Kimberly will be deeply missed by family, friends, coworkers and all whose lives she touched so profoundly.
