Josephine F. Villecco 1942-2026

NILES — Josephine F. Villecco, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 28, 2026, at her residence with her loving family by her side following a short illness.

Born Dec. 28, 1942, in Youngstown, Josephine was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Pauline Catone Ezzo.

She was a proud 1960 graduate of Girard High School, later earning her cosmetology license and enjoying a long and fulfilling career as a self-employed hairdresser. Through her work, she formed lasting friendships and touched the lives of countless clients.

Josephine was a devoted member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.

She embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm, finding joy in dancing, casino trips and lively games of bingo. Her vibrant spirit, kind heart and love of family will be remembered by all who knew her. Above all, Josephine cherished her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 57 years, Jim A. Villecco, whom she married Nov. 16, 1968; she will be remembered for the deep, unwavering bond they shared, partners in life, love and laughter who understood each other without words and never let go of each other through all of life’s seasons; her son, Jim P. Villecco (Kamryn) of Niles; her daughter, Julie Villecco of Liberty; her brothers, Tom Ezzo (Tamie) of Girard and Dan Ezzo (Bernadette) of Youngstown; her sister-in-law, Joyce Villecco of Niles; her nieces and nephews, Brian Villecco (Susan), Michelle Ezzo-Beato, Danielle Ezzo, Joey Ezzo, Anthony Francis, Marlene Francis, Darlene Francis and Gary Francis; goddaughters, Angel and Erica Ezzo; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Darlene Ezzo.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where prayers will be offered at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral service celebrating Josephine’s life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niles City Schools Stevens Park Project, 309 N. Rhodes Ave., Niles, OH 44446.
