James A. Villecco 1938-2026

NILES — James A. Villecco, 88, of Niles, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, with his loving children by his side.

He was born Jan. 5, 1938, in Niles, the son of Paul and Carmel Petrarca Villecco Sr.

Jim was a 1955 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, and was employed at National Gypsum for 48 years, retiring in 2008.

He was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the monthly Italian Amici Club, enjoyed dancing and was an avid Niles McKinley football fan.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving with the First Armored Division stationed in Korea after the war at The DMZ.

His wife, Josephine Ezzo Villecco, whom he married Nov. 16, 1968, passed away June 28, 2026.

He will be sadly missed by his son, Jim P. (Kamryn) Villecco of Niles; his daughter, Julie Villecco of Liberty; sister-in-law, Joyce Villecco of Niles; brothers-in-law, Tom Ezzo of Girard and Dan Ezzo of Youngstown; his nephew, Brian (Susan) Villecco; and his great-nephew, Jesse.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul R. Villecco Jr.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the 6 p.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
