Gregory F. Cvetkovic 1948-2026

AUSTINTOWN — It is with heavy hearts that his family announces the passing of Gregory “Greg” F. Cvetkovic, 78.

Bringing comfort to his family in this time is the knowledge that Greg lived a life that was full of love and purpose. The following are just a fraction of those who loved him and will miss him: his wife of over 50 years, Nikki Cvetkovic; his children, James Cvetkovic and Adrienne Cvetkovic; his daughter-in-law, Christina Cvetkovic; his son-in-law, Gregory Hinkle; his grandchildren, Jillian, Reagan and Evan; and his brother, Frank (Judy) Cvetkovic.

Greg was a proud graduate of Youngstown State University (bachelor’s degree) and Western Michigan University (master’s degree). For more than 30 years, he served as the executive director of D & E Counseling Center Inc. (now Alta Care Group Inc.). Greg was instrumental in the establishment and continued operation of the Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Inc., a nonprofit organization. In recognition of his tremendous efforts to support local youth and their families, a building located on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown was named in his honor.

Greg was an avid golfer who passed down the love of the game to his son and two granddaughters. In addition to golf, Greg loved Youngstown and YSU, loud music, cars, his cat Timmy and watching Westerns with his wife. Most of all, Greg loved his family. Whether it was attending YSU tailgates, hosting summer BBQs, having fun on vacations or attending his grandchildren’s events, it was spending time with his family that brought Greg the most joy.

A celebration of life will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Lane Funeral Home in Austintown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg’s honor may be made to the Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation, PO Box 4328, Youngstown, OH 44515.
