Duane A. Pluche Jr. 1953-2026

NILES – Duane Alfred Pluche Jr. passed away peacefully Monday, June 29, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Duane was born April 5, 1953, in Warren, to Duane Sr. and Marjorie Miller Pluche.

Duane graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1971 and went on to own the beloved local Sub Station. He later retired from the City of Niles after more than 20 years of service.

He married his wife, Jacklyn, in 1984, and together they raised three children, James, Robert and Daniel.

Duane was known for his quick wit, generosity and unwavering perseverance. Despite facing numerous challenges, Duane never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living life fully. Whether it was coaching sports, leading Boy Scout troops or planning family vacations, he found joy being an active participant in his wife and children’s lives.

Throughout his life, Duane enjoyed fishing, bowling and visiting casinos.

Duane is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jacklyn; his children, James Pluche of Niles, Robert (Elisabeth) Pluche of Deerfield and Daniel Pluche of California; his grandchildren, Sophia and Aria; and two brothers, Lynn Pluche and his wife Margaret of Oxnard, California, and Alfred Pluche and his wife Sherry of Elkin, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane Sr. and Marjorie, and his sister, Joyce Low.

Friends may call 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Shriners Children’s in Duane’s memory. Arrangements handled by the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
