LOWELLVILLE -- Dennis A. Hynes, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on July 15, 1939, in Youngstown, the son of Paul and Helen Lung Hynes.
He was a 1957 graduate of Ursuline High School and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Youngstown College.
Dennis was a teacher with the Lowellville Local Schools, retiring in 1991 after 30 years. He then worked as a substitute teacher with Lowellville Local Schools. He was also a licensed auctioneer and Realtor.
In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed cutting grass and doing yard work. He also enjoyed working at the flea market, watching his grandchildren playing sports, and golfing with the retired teachers. He will also be remembered for his sarcastic humor.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
His wife, the former Carol Ramunno, whom he married on July 30, 1960, passed away on Sept. 16, 2016.
Dennis will always be remembered lovingly by his four children, Denise (Mario Sr.) Nero, Lisa (Kevin Sr.) Duncan, Paul Hynes and Dennis (Lori) Hynes; 10 grandchildren, Melissa (Jesse) Coon, Tami (Dustin) Socie, Amanda Nero, Mario Nero Jr., Kevin Duncan Jr., Colleen (John) Wilaj, Kenny Duncan, Vince Hynes, Matt Hynes and Adam Hynes; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hines.
Besides his parents and wife, Dennis was preceded in death by four siblings, Jack Hynes, Robert Hynes, Patricia Kinney and Emmett Hynes.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Masternick Memorial and Sanctuary Hospice, for the kind and compassionate care shown to Dennis.
