Carole J. Murphy 1941-2026
STREETSBORO — Carole Jean Mesarich Murphy, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, July 5, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; her parents, Stephen and Mary Mele Mesarich; brothers, Stephen (Barbara) and Joseph (Sandy); and her loving companion of 27 years, Roy Larrick. Carole is survived by a son, Patrick of Kent; daughters, Karen Mangus of Bath and Kathy of Ellet; grandsons, Ryan Mangus of Wadsworth and Joseph Mangus of Steubenville; and the Larrick family.
After marrying in 1961, Patrick and Carole, in great Christian charity, adopted their twin daughters Karen and Kathy in 1964 and their son Patrick in 1966. Carole was always devoted to her family, giving her children great memories at Leisure Lake and trips to family in Youngstown and Florida. She carried on many holiday traditions from her mother, including Christmas Eve dinners of fish and spaghetti with anchovy sauce. She made every holiday a great memory for her family with presents, festive lights and special dinners. At the end of life, Carole always wanted to know where each member of the family was and what they were doing; it was of the deepest importance to her.
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandsons, which brought her great joy. Carole was like a grandmother to many and touched many lives. Carole babysat many children over the years, her favorites being the Dolman sisters. Together with Roy, they created many wonderful and joy-filled memories for the Dolmans.
She was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro. Later in life, she attended Mass in Akron with her daughters.
Carole served her community through many years of cleaning both the police station and city hall. She served as a member of the women’s auxiliary for the fire department while her husband was a volunteer firefighter. She cleaned the Streetsboro Methodist Church for many years, requiring two people to replace her when she retired.
Carole was a master of crocheting and quilting, making many lovely blankets that still provide warmth to her family. She was a passionate and avid bingo player. She loved the company of her friends, especially Trish Nelson, Pat Formick and the late Delores Kosarek.
Mom, we will always love you and miss you, and we will see you again in heaven.
