Carol Valentino 1944-2026

CANFIELD — Carol Valentino, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, May 8, 2026, at Beeghly Oaks in Youngstown.

Carol was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Patrick and Theresa Ignozzi Valentino. She was a graduate of Boardman High School and began her career working clerical jobs before joining the Mahoning County Board of Mental Health, where she worked for 10 years. She later relocated to Florida and spent more than a decade with Nature Ripe Farms before moving back to Ohio.

Carol cherished her family and shared a particularly close bond with her cousins, always enjoying time spent with “the girls.” After moving back from Florida, she especially treasured celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day surrounded by her family.

Carol was a wonderful cook and found great joy in tending her vegetable garden and caring for her many houseplants. She enjoyed golfing and appreciated any opportunity to be outdoors doing what she loved.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her many cousins, including Michele (Bill) Helbig, Suzanne Stilliana and Lenny Young, who helped care for her in her final years; niece, Lisa Marie (Bill) Miller; nephew, Patrick J. (Brandy) Valentino; great-nieces and great-nephews, Sydney and Drew Miller, Mayce Landes, and Morgan and Tate Valentino; great-great-nephews, Eli and Kasen; and her sister-in-law and friend, Dee Valentino, who comforted her in her last days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patrick and JoAnn Valentino; and her niece, Deana Valentino.

A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Please visit www.beckerfuneralhomes.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
