LIBERTY TOWNSHIP -- With profound sadness and enduring love, we celebrate the life of Bob "Munk" Gaudio, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 89.
Bob's kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to this family left an unforgettable mark on all who knew and loved him.
Bob dedicated more than 30 years of service to General Motors, where he built not only a respected career but also lasting friendships. After earning his Associate Degree in Labor Relations from Youngstown State University, he proudly served as an elected Union Representative, using his knowledge and compassion to advocate for and support his fellow union brothers and sisters. Helping others was never simply part of his job -- it was part of who he was. Before joining General Motors, Bob began his career at WYTV, where he enjoyed working as cameraman and then a director. His creativity and artistic talents extended well beyond television.
During the 1960s and early 1970s, Bob and his beloved wife, Beverly, were active members of the Youngstown Playhouse. Together, they formed lifelong friendships and treasured memories, and Bob was recognized for his exceptional talent in set design. He often delighted family and friends with stories from those special years.
He was a lifelong member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, where his family was among the founding members. Some of his happiest memories were made playing on the church baseball team, surrounded by family, friends and a community that remained dear to his heart.
While Bob was proud of his professional accomplishments, his favorite and most cherished role began after retirement. He often said his greatest job was being "Bubba," and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Spencer and Chelsea. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance or simply enjoying everyday moments together, Bob's love for them was boundless. They were truly the light of his life.
Bob will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, generous heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, valued and cared for. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, integrity and steadfast love.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, friendship, laughter and unforgettable memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose Gaudio.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted daughter, Alyson Moorhead (Matt); his cherished grandchildren, Spencer and Chelsea; his brother, Richard Gaudio (Marilyn); his sisters, Roberta Gaudio and Joann May (Larry); along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are deeply grateful for the years we shared with Bob. His life was defined by the love he shared, the friendships he nurtured, and the family he treasured above all else. His example of compassion, humility, hard work and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
The family will hold private services to honor Bob's life. In keeping with his legacy, those who knew and loved him are encouraged to remember him by sharing a story, lending a helping hand to someone in need or spending time with the people they cherish most. He will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever remembered.
