Albert P. Yanno Sr. 1939-2026

Together again

YOUNGSTOWN – Albert P. Yanno Sr., 86, passed away peacefully Monday, June 29, 2026, at Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1939, in Youngstown, a son of the late Albert J. Sr. and Helen Mrakovich Yanno.

He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and went on to earn his welding certificate.

He worked as a certified welder at General Motors and General American until he became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.

Faith was the foundation of his life and the guiding force behind all that he did. In 1988, he founded Cornerstone AG, following God’s calling with a servant’s heart and a desire to share the hope of the Gospel with others. As the founder and movement leader of New Creation Fellowship, he poured his life into mentoring and encouraging young people in their faith. Through his unwavering commitment to Christ, he helped lead hundreds of young people to know the Lord, leaving an impact that continues to be felt through the generations that followed.

His ministry was never simply about building a church — it was about building people. He invested deeply in the lives of those around him, offering guidance, encouragement and a steady example of Christ’s love.

While his greatest legacy lives on in his own children and family, he was also blessed to become a spiritual father to many who looked to him for wisdom, support and faith. His life was a testament to the power of living with purpose, and the seeds he planted in the hearts of others will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

He leaves behind to carry on his legacy his children, Renee (Anthony) LaGamba, Stacey (Robert) McMillan and Albert (Paris) Yanno Jr.; his grandchildren, Tiffany Pecchia, Kendra Gailey, Anthony LaGamba II, Dante Yanno, Kayla Hocke, Caleb Yanno, Seth McMillan, Katina Broussard, Jayquan Yanno, Paris Yanno, Rickell Yanno, Amber Chapman and Dante “RJ” Yanno; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Doris (Tony) Duponty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Ambrosia, whom he married May 20, 1961, and who passed away April 29, 2014.

Friends and family will be received 4 to 5:45 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at New Life Church, 2250 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, OH 44514, followed immediately by a service beginning at 6 p.m.

He will be laid to rest with his wife in Lake Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to the family to distribute to several of Al’s most near and dear charitable organizations.
