Thelma L. Palmer 1937-2026
CAMPBELL — Thelma Louise Veneable Palmer, 88, departed this life at 5:51 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, at Hospice House, following complications from a short illness.
She was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Campbell, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle Johns Veneable.
Thelma was employed with Kmart for 32 years as a sales representative in the ladies’ department before retiring in 2000.
She was a 1955 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she served on the nurses guild, deaconess and kitchen committee.
She enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Seattle Seahawks fan. She leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Eileen (Shawn) Carson-Rogers of Campbell and Ms. Tiffany Adams of Youngstown; one granddaughter she raised, Ms. Asia (Melanie) Wernert of Columbus; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Charles Veneable, Theodore Veneable, Wilbert Veneable, Kenneth Veneable and Shirley Veneable; and two sisters, Ms. Marian Parker and Ms. Sandra Palmer.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will take place in Belmont Park Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
