Sladjan Milentijevic 1970-2026

BOADMAN — Sladjan Milentijevic, 56, of Boardman, passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in 1970 in the former Yugoslavia, Sladjan immigrated to the United States as a child with his family. He carried the spirit of his Serbian heritage throughout his life, remaining deeply connected to his roots. Sladjan would spend hours on the phone with his family in Serbia, cherishing every conversation and the closeness they shared across the miles. He loved listening to Serbian music while he worked, the familiar melodies filling his days with joy and memories of home.

For many years, Sladjan lived and worked in England, where he formed lifelong friendships that endured. He traveled the world extensively and, in his later years, was fortunate to enjoy many heartfelt visits with his dear friends across the ocean.

A skilled and dedicated self-employed contractor, Sladjan took great pride in his craft.

In his free time, he was an avid pool player, passionate bow hunter and enthusiastic motorcyclist who loved the freedom of the open road.

He was also a devoted fan of Manchester United. Sladjan was a man of Serbian Orthodox faith, guided by the traditions he held dear.

He leaves behind his beloved companion of 15 years, Paula Berndt, with whom he shared a deep and devoted partnership; his loving children, daughter Jacqueline and son Maksim, both of Boardman; his mother, Milka in Kraljevo, Serbia; his brother, Dragan Milentijevic of Liberty; his niece, Olja Bojanic; and nephews, Darko and Devin Milentijevic; along with a wide circle of family and friends, especially those in Serbia and England who meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Desimir.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.

A Serbian Orthodox service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the funeral home.

Sladjan will be laid to rest in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
