Ronald N. Riebe Sr. 1934-2026
WEST FARMINGTON — Ronald Norman Riebe Sr., 90, of West Farmington, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, May 31, 2026 — probably after sneaking in one late-night pickleball match in his dreams.
Born Oct. 19, 1935, to Norman and Pearl Teeter Riebe, Ronald was raised in Austintown and was a proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1953.
Following graduation, he joined the United States Army, where he honorably served for six years.
He was married to Mary Maloney Riebe for 45 years.
Ronald lived an active and joyful life. He participated in bowling leagues, coached baseball, loved dancing, and in his later years, found great happiness on the pickleball court — both as a player and as a dedicated teacher to others.
Left to cherish his memory is his longtime significant other, Theresa Danko. He is also survived by his children, Thomas Riebe, Ronald (Kristen) Riebe Jr., Barbara Hileman, Jennifer Riebe Grady, Amanda Hamilton and David (Lee) Riebe; and his grandchildren, Jason, Zac, Julia, Dan, Caitlyn, Cara, Gary, William, Lucas, Connor, Declan, Michael, Tyler and Ethan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife, Mary Maloney Riebe; his brother, Dale Riebe; and his niece, Linda Simeone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s memory to the Special Olympics. Donations can be made online through the Special Olympics website and will help support athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren.
A funeral service will be hosted 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at the chapel, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
Ronald will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, where military honors will be rendered.
