Robert F. Ohl 1941-2026

CANFIELD — Robert F. Ohl passed away peacefully Monday, May 4, 2026, at The Inn at Ironwood, at the age of 84.

Bob was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of Randall and Blanche Mansfield Ohl.

A proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Bob served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, from Feb. 18, 1963, to Jan. 24, 1967. His dedication to his country shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried into his civilian life. After his honorable discharge, Bob joined NCR, where he worked for 30 years as a cash register repairman.

Bob was a quiet man with a big heart. He enjoyed many things but nothing more than being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Bob Jr. (Audrey) Ohl of Boardman and Brian (Lauren) Ohl of Austintown; his sister, Barbara (Jack) Sherwood of Bend, Oregon; and two grandchildren, Sadie and Oliver Ohl.

Per Bob’s wishes, private family services were held Friday at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 979 Tibbetts Wick Road, Suite A, Girard, OH 44420.

Professional arrangements were handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
