Renee J. Stringer 1952-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — Renee Jean Johnson Stringer, 73, peacefully departed this life at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland, following an extended illness.

Renee was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Cleveland, to Dorothy M. Johnson. She spent the past 38 years in the Youngstown area after relocating from Warren.

A dedicated and hardworking professional, Renee was employed by Delphi Packard Electric for 30 years, where she worked as an assembler. She was also a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating The Personal Touch and Style Shows by Renee. In addition, she served as the producer of the popular Mr. Black Warren contests and excelled as a Mary Kay beauty consultant.

Renee was a proud graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Class of 1970.

Renee had a vibrant personality and a deep love for people, especially children. She faithfully served in the children’s church ministry at Rising Star Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to jazz music, traveling, playing tennis and spending time with family and friends through card and board games.

On March 28, 1992, Renee married the love of her life, Frederick Henry Stringer. They shared many cherished years together until his passing July 20, 2025.

Left to cherish Renee’s memory are her beloved mother, Dorothy M. Johnson of Warren; her stepson, Kevin (Jennifer) Stringer of Indianapolis, Indiana; her stepdaughter, Nicole Stringer of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Chaz, Autumn and Sebastian; 11 godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to her husband, Renee was preceded in death by her brothers, Alphonso Johnson and Lamar Johnson, and her sister, Rosemary Johnson.

A celebration of life service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ, 904 W. Market St., Warren, OH 44481. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Interment will follow in Tod Homestead Cemetery.

The family entrusted the care of their loved one to Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
