Patricia Scarpine 1954-2026

POLAND — Patricia “Patty” Scarpine, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 9, 1954, in Youngstown, Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Scarp” and Phyllis Scarpine; and her fiance, Ron Mikula.

A lifelong devoted Catholic, she attended St. Matthias Catholic school and graduated from Cardinal Mooney in 1972.

She spent her career in banking at Home Savings, PNC and Dollar Bank.

Patty dedicated the last 15 years of her life providing loving care for her mother, Phyllis. They were a dynamic duo and lived life to the fullest. Every room they were in was always filled with laughter.

Patty is survived by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Mary Teresa and Russ Boda; and her bonus brothers, Michael (Stacey) Durkin and Tim (Jill) Durkin. She prided herself on being the “Greatest” Aunt Patty to her nephew and nieces, Mark (Kirby) Boda, Leslie Boda and Carly (Steve) Wallis. She treasured her time spent with her great-nephews and great-nieces, Hunter, Ellie, Tucker, Henry and Gigi.

Due to her enormous heart, she is also survived by many others she considered family: Matt, Grace and Lilly Durkin, Timmy, Jonny and Colleen Durkin, and many dear friends.

Patty is also survived by her twin sister, Pam Knipple.
