Nelson R. Laboy 1949-2026

Nelson was born March 20, 1949, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, the son of Manuel and Emma Laboy.

Nelson was a proud Navy veteran who volunteered for two tours in Vietnam on board the USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37).

Nelson was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, spending much of his free time on the lake. He had a passion for automobiles and motorcycles.

He worked for over 40 years in the auto towing and mechanics industry.

Nelson will always be remembered lovingly by his two children, Sean (Madison) Laboy and Maria Laboy; and six siblings, Ernest (Carmen) Laboy, Ana (Joe) Rodriguez, Richard Laboy, Sonia Laboy, Edgar Laboy and Michael (Evelyn) Laboy.

Family and friends may pay their respects 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman, followed by a 7 p.m. memorial service.

The family would love to thank Masternick Memorial and Sanctuary Hospice for all the care and services provided to Nelson.
