Janice M. Lintner 1951-2026

AUSTINTOWN –Janice Marie Litner, 75, lovingly known as Jannie or Jan, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.

She was born March 30, 1951, in Akron, a daughter of the late James and Mary Laraway Hopkins. Her family moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1962.

Janice was a 1969 graduate of North West High School in Florida. After raising her children, she attended Youngstown State University to earn her degree in early childhood education. After working for Head Start for a number of years, she made the decision to be home to help with her grandchildren.

She married David on March 23, 1973; they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year and, over the years, marked special occasions with travel.

Janice had a sweet voice and a gentle way about her. She also had an amazing sense of humor that she kept through her final days. She enjoyed talking about living in Fort Lauderdale and the time she spent there with her parents and her two sisters. After returning to Ohio, she and David married and raised three children together, then watched their family continue to grow with the blessings of eight grandchildren. Janice proudly talked about her children and grandchildren any chance she was given. She loved to tell a good story and often repeated her favorite ones. She is remembered to always have a smile on her face.

Besides her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lynn Bash.

Left to cherish her memory, Janice leaves her husband, David, of Austintown; her children, sons, Scott (Beth) of Pannsylvania and Timothy (Rebecca) of Austintown, and daughter, Lisa (Craig) Beaudis, also of Austintown; grandchildren, Keegan and Harper Lintner, Tyler, Hannah and Sophia Lintner, and Madison, Alexis and Devin Beaudis. She also leaves her sister, Patricia Cilano; her mother-in-law, Vergie Lintner; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Pepper.

On behalf of Janice, the family would like to thank Hospice House for taking such wonderful care of her during her final days.

Family and friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, with a service following at 5 p.m., at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
