GEORGETOWN, Texas — Ivan “Rex” Miller, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Born Feb. 23, 1937, in Springfield, to Irwin and Maude Miller, Rex grew up in Youngstown and attended Youngstown University, majoring in accounting.
He joined Automatic Sprinkler Corporation and launched a distinguished lifelong career in the commercial fire sprinkler protection industry, eventually becoming president of LaDew Fire Protection, culminating in his 2013 induction into the Fire Sprinkler Hall of Fame.
A true adventurer, Rex loved flying his Cessna, sailing, traveling and playing golf, pickleball and table tennis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Beverly Miller; his children, Denise Martin (and Anita Goff), Jeffrey (and Teresa) Miller, Monday (and David) Fougeron and Marli (and Neil) Atkinson; Beverly’s children, Michael (and Nati) O’Laughlin and Angela O’Laughlin; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Julia Miller; and a large, loving extended family.
A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, 1004 N. Mays St., Round Rock, TX 78664.
