Cheryl L. Wallace 1955-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — Cheryl “Cheri” Lynn Wallace, 70, passed away peacefully Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Cheri was born Aug. 24, 1955, in Youngstown, the daughter of Philip Chance Sr. and Christine Minnie Chance.

She was a graduate of Chaney High School in 1973 and later pursued an associate degree in medical coding, graduating in 2007 from ETI Technical College.

Cheri enjoyed baking, bingo, trips to the casino and holidays with family.

She worked for InfoCision until her retirement in 2022, but her favorite job by far was that of “dance mom”. Cheri was heavily involved in J&J’s Dance Depot with her daughter, working as a seamstress and assisting in the office, always lending a helping hand.

Cheri is lovingly remembered by her family, daughter, Michelle (Dan) Santarelli and granddaughter, Annalise Santarelli of Boardman; siblings, Phil Chance Jr. of Boardman, Jeffrey (Hope) Chance of Canfield and Michelle (Bill) Chance-Ritchey of Vienna; nieces and nephews, Tiffani (Austin Skovran) Chance, Jeffrey Chance Jr., Nicholas Graham, Melissa (Michael) Bruner and PJ (Tina) Chance; as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Cheri is reunited in death with her parents, Phil and Tina; and the love of her life, Warner Lee Wallace, whom she married in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 8,1994.

The family would like to thank Akeso Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Cheri in her final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Akron Children’s Hospital, Boardman Campus, in gratitude for the compassionate care provided to Cheri’s granddaughter, Annalise.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, with services to follow at 7 p.m., at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
