Sandra A. Carano 1949-2026

Sandi was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Steve S. and Catherine V. Tallerino Carano.

Sandi graduated in 1967 from Ursuline High School.

She worked for Giant Eagle for 24 1/2 years, retiring in 2015.

She was a member of Holy Family Church and Immaculate Conception until it closed in 2011.

In her free time, she loved to crochet and enjoyed volunteering at the Dorothy Day House.

Sandi leaves behind to hold on to her memories her two sons, Steve (Nicole) Stupka and Brian Stupka; a brother, John (Diana) Carano; a brother-in-law, Hubert Fitzgerald; three nieces, Kelly (Dan) Stilson, Melissa (Adam Rucker) Carano and Julie (Larry) Frangos; three great-nieces, Abby Stilson, Mallory Stilson and Francesca Frangos; and a great-nephew, Maximus Frangos.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Fitzgerald, and daughter-in-law, Nicole Stupka.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 5, at Holy Family Church.

Professional arrangements were handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
