Robert S. Komar 1940-2026
NORTH LIMA — Robert Stephen Komar, 85, passed into God’s hands Monday, May 18, 2026.
He was the son of Stephen and Margaret Komar and was a 1958 graduate of Struthers High School. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in France as a member of the 59th Engineering Company.
Upon his discharge, he entered the retail field, working for food brokers and in management at Strouss. But he turned to logistics for the balance of his working years, retiring from B&T Express.
He will be sorely missed by his wife, who never had to cook a meal, do grocery shopping or decorate the house. He was a loving husband and partner in life. And his faithful companion and confidant, Roxie Cat, is in deep mourning.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mercy Smith Komar; and his sister, Mary Ann Farrant; along with many cousins and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother-in-law, Jack Farrant.
Many thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. E’s and to the many nurses and aides that provided comfort at Assumption Village and Harmony Hospice.
Friends may call 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
