Robert L. Tiller 1954-2026
YOUNGSTOWN — Robert Lee “Bob” Tiller, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 24, 2026, at his home in Youngstown.
Bob was born Nov. 18, 1954, in Youngstown, a son of the late Obie F. and Wilma C. May Tiller.
He worked as a truck driver for The Vindicator for over 15 years until the paper closed Aug. 31, 2019. Prior to that, he worked in the stockroom at the Sears store in Southern Park Mall in Boardman for several years and he also worked as a shipping and receiving coordinator at Miller Spreader Company for 11 years.
Bob loved being outdoors and took pride in landscaping for family and friends. He enjoyed collecting scrap metal, couponing and finding simple, practical ways to stay busy. He was known for stopping by unexpectedly to check on loved ones, often dropping things off and lending a helping hand. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet presence, his stubbornness and his own unique way of showing love.
Bob is survived by his son, Michael Tiller of Akron; his daughters, Michelle Tiller of Youngstown, Heather Tiller of Youngstown and Randi Castillo of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Barbara (Raymond) Repasky of Struthers; and a brother, Thomas (Karen) Tiller of Whispering Pines, North Carolina. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Michael Tiller, Sean Tiller, Kiara McClintic, Carlos Castillo III, Achilles Lassalle, Kelso Lassalle, Remi Castillo and Link Lassalle; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply loved and missed by his family and all who knew him, always.
