Patrick D. Riggs 1952-2026

NEWTON FALLS — Patrick D. “Pat” Riggs, 73, passed away Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, surrounded by his family at his residence, following an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 18, 1952, in Norfolk, Va., a son of Keith and Eileen McBride Riggs.

Pat was a 1970 graduate of Jackson Milton High School and worked as the service manager for the former Bob and Chuck Eddy Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership in Austintown for many years.

He married the former Judy A. Sinn on Dec. 3, 1994. Together they shared 31 years of marriage and many happy memories. She survives him.

Pat enjoyed woodworking and loved playing his collection of guitars, having played the bass for many years with the praise team at First Federated Church. He was also an avid horseman, having owned and taken care of several through the years.

His greatest joy was his family, whom he dearly loved. Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife, Pat is survived by two daughters, Heather (Lonnie) Clayton of Austintown and Leanne Cromer of Boardman. He also leaves behind four sisters: Nola (Jim) Bailey of North Jackson, Monica (Dave) Menegay of Florida, Brenda Long of Colorado and Lynette Riggs of Florida; three grandchildren: Adam Wells, Madison Clayton and Paige Clendenin; a great-granddaughter, Pailynn; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Cindy) Sinn; two sisters-in-law, Joan Sinn and April Riggs; and numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved to pieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Bill and Wesley Riggs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, with Pastor Jack Acri officiating.

Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Federated Church.

Pat will be laid to rest in North Jackson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Akeso Home Care and Hospice, 6600 Summit Drive, Canfield, OH 44406, in Patrick’s memory.
