Lucy G. Nardelli 1939-2026
BOARDMAN — Lucy G. Nardelli, 87, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter by her side, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Assumption Village in North Lima.
Lucy was born Feb. 21, 1939, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, a daughter of Ovila and Flora Boucher Beaudry. She grew up in St. Johnsbury and graduated from high school there before moving to California with her family after graduation. She then moved to Boardman in May 2025 to be closer to family.
Lucy married her first husband, Albert Glass on July 15, 1961, and they shared 19 years of marriage until his passing in October 1980. She later married Victor Nardelli on Jan. 26, 1984, and they were married until his passing March 12, 2006.
She worked as a phone operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.
Lucy was of the Catholic faith and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac Church in Covina, California. She loved meeting with her friends once a month to play Bunco. She enjoyed bingo, cooking and baking, spending time with family and traveling anywhere she could. She and her sister, Marie, were known to the family as “Thelma and Louise.” She was a loving and devoted caregiver to both of her husbands who battled and died from cancer.
Lucy was an incredible woman, kind, honest, devoted, compassionate and forgiving, and she loved Jesus. She was a role model, a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen, and she loved to laugh. She was an extremely positive person and never had a negative word towards anyone or anything.
Lucy will be deeply missed and always remembered by her stepchildren, Gregory Glass of Washington State, Theresa Vrabel of Boardman, Mary Sue Bailey, also of Boardman, and Debbie (Steve) Lipstone of North Carolina; grandchildren, Christina Moore, Karen Glass, Echo Seidler, Christina Bailey, Joshua Lipstone, Sarah Lipstone and Christine Lipstone; and her granddaughter, friend and caregiver, Jennifer Vrabel; along with seven great-grandchildren. Lucy was also an amazing aunt to four nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; stepson, Robert Nardelli; sister, Marie Lacroix; two nieces; and her companion the last few years, Don Daley.
The Nardelli family has entrusted Lucy’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. A Memorial Mass and burial will be at noon Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., Culver City, CA 90230.
