Jeanie Mikus 1938-2026

Jeanie was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Bata Zupko.

Jeanie dedicated 33 years of her life to working as a school bus driver, a role she took pride in as she safely transported countless children in the community.

She was known for her strong spirit and feisty personality; she was truly one of a kind.

An avid sewer, Jeanie loved spending time sewing, reading books and cooking for those she loved. She enjoyed driving her little red truck around Struthers, tending to her yard and keeping everything just the way she liked it. She also loved keeping up with styles and always took pride in her appearance. Above all, she cherished her family and was proud of being a loving wife, mother and bubba.

She is survived by her loving children, Gigi Potts of Struthers and Marc (Tracie) Mikus of Howland; her grandchildren, Samantha Potts and Alexis (Jordan) Bjerke; and her great-granddaughter, Scarlet Bjerke. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mary Zupko; her stepson, Daniel Mikus; and her husband, Steven Mikus.

In keeping with her wishes, services were held privately to the family and close friends.

Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
