Gwendolyn Walker 1942-2026
STRUTHERS — Gwendolyn Clara Walker, 84, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Gwendolyn was born Jan. 3, 1942, in Waterford, Pa., a daughter of the late Lin and Mary Allshouse Hartman. She attended Fort LeBoeuf High School in Waterford before moving to the Youngstown area in 1965.
She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers for over 20 years, where she dedicated herself to caring for others.
Gwendolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed traveling with her husband.
She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Poland.
In addition to her parents, Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Walker; three sons, Richard Webster, Earl Webster and Forrest Webster; four brothers, Forrest Hartman, Lyle Hartman, Paul Hartman and Dale Hartman; and two sisters, Helen Jakapac and Ruth Sherman.
Gwendolyn is survived by two daughters, Mary Davis and Barbara Plute; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Malepou; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leoria Brumfield
Per Gwendolyn’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service at this time.
Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
