Duane E. Evans Jr. 1970-2026

LAS VEGAS — Duane E. “Dane” Evans Jr., 55, of Osprey, Florida, and formerly of Niles, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Las Vegas.

He was born April 22, 1970, in Warren, the son of Beverly Bowman Vrbancic and the late Duane E. Evans Sr.

Duane “Dane” was a 1988 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Toledo in 1992. He later obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He began his career with Scot Labs in Cleveland and The Budd Company in Van Wert before dedicating more than 25 years to International, a career he truly valued.

Duane “Dane” had a passion for sports, especially cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. Above all, he loved supporting his children, proudly attending their football, basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and treasured time spent with family and friends on the Lake Erie Islands and at Cedar Point. These moments brought him the greatest joy.

Duane “Dane” will be remembered as a fun-loving person who brought laughter wherever he went. He had a creative mind and a playful spirit, always finding ways to make others smile — often through a well-timed joke or an unforgettable prank. If you knew him, you knew to be especially on guard around April Fools’ Day, as no one was ever safe from his sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly (Richard) Vrbancic of Warren; his son, Saylor J. Evans of Nokomis, Florida; his stepdaughter, McKenzie (Ryan) Rapp; and his granddaughter, Rory Rapp. He is also survived by his sister, Jill Evans Walsh of Florida, and his brother, Jeff Evans of Struthers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duane E. Evans Sr.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 W. Park Ave., Niles, OH 44446. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
