Dolores Petrus 1930-2026
POLAND — Dolores “Dee” Petrus, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, May 23, 2026.
Dolores was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of Andrew and Anna Kapina Sedlar.
During the Korean War, Dolores worked at Commercial Shearing and Stamping and later worked in the maintenance department for 23 years at City Centre One, downtown.
She was a member of St. Charles Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards and, most especially, spending time with her family.
Her husband Joseph, whom she married July 17, 1954, passed away Oct. 7, 2004.
Left to cherish Dolores’ memory are her children, Patti (Andy Warbel) Petrus, Joseph (Karen) Petrus, Donna (Tony) Tisdall and Karen Colla; grandchildren, Jamie (Eric) Soller, Danielle (Zach) Brock, Anthony Tisdall, Jimmy Colla and Josh Colla; and great-grandchildren, Brady, Mitchell and Zoe.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Sedlar, Andrew Sedlar and Frank Sedlar; sisters, Josephine Papula and Marian Kozbial; and son-in-law, James Colla.
Family and friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
Prayers will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Stephen Zeigler, at 1 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish- St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Lake Park Cemetery.
Dolores’ family wishes to thank her special niece, Carol, and the angels at Hampton Woods, Tony, Patti, Alice and Jenise (Jolene), for their care and compassion given to her.
