Charles D. Bailey 1940-2026

HUBBARD — Charles David Bailey, 85, died Monday afternoon, May 4, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley-Liberty.

David was born a son of Charles and Una Freed Bailey on June 7, 1940, in Youngstown.

David was an owner and operator of the Pizza Works Corporation for many years along with his brother Stephen. He served in the United States Army and contributed extensively to the Hubbard community by raising funds for the Hubbard Public Schools, including the new high school building.

David served on the Hubbard Public Library Board for seven years. He enjoyed photography as well as tinkering with computers and related technology and watching Ohio State football. David was an avid reader of history and science fiction. In his youth, he was a leader with the Boy Scouts of America and played varsity football for Hubbard High School.

David leaves his brother, Stephen Bailey of Hubbard; his sister-in-law, Dorene Bailey (Reichart); his niece, Lauren Bailey-Cesene; grandniece, Laney; his nephew, Alan Bailey; niece-in-law, Chrystina Bailey-Hill; grandniece, Jocelyn; and grandnephews, Keenan and Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. May 16 at the funeral home.
