Carol J. Troll 1944-2026

NORTH LIMA — Carol J. Troll, 82, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 18, 2026.

She was born Feb. 10, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Stephen F. and Mary Lou Yurick Garasic.

After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1962, she received a bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University.

She taught second grade in the Youngstown City School system for 32 years and worked for four years for Youngstown City Court.

Carol was a member of St. Matthias Church, its Ladies Guild and Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. Later in life, she was an active member of St. Carlo Acutis Parish-St. Jude Church in Columbiana.

She loved to play cards, games of chance, gamble and tell jokes.

Her husband, Thomas Raymond Troll, whom she married April 23, 1976, passed away Jan. 15, 2025. Her favorite place to visit with Tom was always Las Vegas.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Tom (Martha Irene) Garasic and Charles (Liz) Garasic; brothers-in-law, Charles (Trish) Troll and Robert (Cecilia) Troll; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Dee Tripp, who will miss her dearly.

Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Seederly Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at St. Carlo Acutis Parish-St. Jude Church, Columbiana, celebrated by the Rev. Chad Johnson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Carol’s caregiver, Tanya, and the compassionate staff at Hospice House for their exceptional care.
