Tyrone Freeman 1961-2026
SEATTLE — Tyrone Freeman, 64, departed this life Friday, March 27, 2026, at his home.
Tyrone Freeman was the second child, born July 25, 1961, in Youngstown, to Elder Butler and Essie Rogers Freeman.
Tyrone began to grow and attended the Youngstown City School system at Grant Elementary and Hillman Junior High schools and received his GED from the Job Corps of America in 1981.
After working for various companies within the Youngstown area, Tyrone met and married the former Pandora Jennings, and they relocated to Seattle, Washington, in 2002. He was a full-time transit operator for the King County Metro in Seattle, Washington, and began to build a life with his wife of 27 years.
Tyrone enjoyed fishing, bingo, going to casinos, fixing cars, and was known for taking a car apart and putting it back together. Tyrone was also known to be there for people whenever they needed something and never expected anything in return.
With all of Tyrone’s many joys, his greatest pride and joy that he most cherished was each of his children. Though different in their own right, Tyrone loved each one, and every child was special to him.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his precious memories, children, Nya Freeman, Aleemal Freeman, Jaquela Freeman, Tyraisa Freeman, Tyrone Freeman, Laqwana Freeman, Andre Steward, LaKeisha Vaughn, Dawond Roddy, Ciera Johnson, Sergio Hawse, Quantiera Hooten, Naomi (Marquese) Kennedy, Rose Henderson Ashford, Brandon Chatman and Porche Jennings; 62 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a bonus son, whom Tyrone raised; one sister, Julie Butler Sandusky; two brothers, Keith Butler and Kevin Butler; last living aunt, Mrs. Charlotte Gibbs, who helped raise and care for him after his mother passed; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by four children, Tyrone Henderson Jr., Natasha Harris, Brooke Hamlett and Shakeeta Thomas; two sisters, Mrs. Debra Ann Freeman Jones and Patricia Butler; and a grandson, Tymark Freeman.
